ConnectedHealth participates in A*Start Central’s MedTech ‘Elevator’ programme as one of 9 selected start-ups
ConnectedHealth was selected from 17 applicants to participate in a special programme to support promising local MedTech start-ups, culminating in a pitching event on 8 June. Called ‘The Elevator’’ and organised by A*Start Central (an innovation arm of the Singapore government’s A*STAR Agency of Science, Technology and Research), the programme aimed to assist start-ups in development and execution of their plans as well as providing an opportunity to pitch to industry experts and investors.
The 9 participating start-ups varied dramatically in their products, target markets and business plans – which made for an interesting afternoon of cross-discipline conversation and learning. Questions and insights from the distinguished panel and audience were helpful to all to test the robustness of plans and provide informed insights.
In ConnectedHealth’s case, we fielded questions on the design and approach of SugoSure – including whether doctors would buy into the product, how our approach was distinct from others in the market and whether we will face any regulatory hurdles.
The AStart* programme was highly informative and we received lots of positive feedback as well as constructive criticism and input from the panel in the pitch session. ConnectedHealth hopes to continue these types of discussions, and to incorporate market and investor feedback as it defines the best positioning for SugoSure. This is in preparation for SugoSure’s commercialisation following its testing phase in patients, which has just begun.
